The Arena was opened on July 3, 2009. The 30,000-seat stadium was conceived as a large amphitheater with a distinctive and instantly recognizable form when viewed from a distance and from close proximity. The Astana Arena stadium is a large sports complex that allows to navigate not only football matches, but also be easily adapted to other sporting events, including boxing, judo and wrestling, which are so beloved in the country. Matches of the Kazakhstan national football team and the Astana football club are held at this stadium. The unique architectural lighting specially made for the stadium is a media facade. It completely duplicates the exterior building facade, and projects a lot of lighting variations on the screen using the wide color palette. In anticipation of sporting or cultural events, the building lighting emphasizes all its beauty and delight citizens.
